Let Kashmir Decide – Global Coalition Mandate
“Azadi is not a mere destination but a means towards a more humane, just and ethical society.” A Kashmiri Activist.
The Let Kashmir Decide Coalition has been formed by Kashmiris and their supporters around the world. Our aim is to build an active, united, international movement in solidarity with the anti-colonial struggle of the Kashmiri people.
Our Coalition is made up of people of many nationalities who are united in our support for Kashmiri self-determination and for the Kashmiri vision of Azadi.
We aim to raise international awareness of the human rights injustices faced by the people of Kashmir.
Our key objectives include –
* A ceasefire and the demilitarisation of the entire Jammu Kashmir region,
* The immediate cessation of the use of pellet guns,
* Economic justice for Kashmiris,
* Protection and restitution of the environment,
* Freedom of communication, movement and assembly,
* The release of all Kashmiri political prisoners,
* Justice for the women and girls raped as a weapon of war,
* To hold accountable those responsible for forced disappearances.
In building a united solidarity movement, we are guided by the vision and demands of Kashmiris for how they determine their future. We recognise that there are important differences among solidarity activists in how best to build a movement. While respecting those differences, we will work to minimize them in order to build a global, united voice in support of Kashmiri self-determination.
